We have quite an adventure ahead of us this year, so let’s jump right in as a team! There is lots to learn and lots of fun to be had along the way.

Our Topic is 'Paws, Claws and Whiskers'

This half term, we’re going to discover that animals come in all shapes and sizes! We will have a class trip to the British Wildlife Centre. Here we will meet a variety of animals and get to ask lots of questions to the wildlife experts. At school we’ll study animal artwork, draw detailed animal pictures to capture their special features and make collages and prints. We’ll spot similarities and differences between animals, look at different habitats around the world and investigate camouflage. Designing a zoo is even on the agenda!

Soft fur, sharp claws and twitching whiskers. What’s your favourite animal? One that meows? One that barks? Or maybe one that scurries or slithers? Can you make a food chain to show who eats who? Who is a herbivore and who is a carnivore? When a gaggle of mysterious pets arrive at the local pet shop, it’s up to you to take care of them. Feed them, clean them and discover their daily needs. After all that work, curl up and take a cat nap.
