Friends of St Lawrence (FOSL)

We have a strong Friends Committee which is very involved in school life. They organise fundraising events but also offer help and support at school occasions. The Friends have funded many purchases over the years including play equipment, ipads, laptops, sports equipment and extra library books.

All parents are members of the Friends and are very welcome to attend the meetings or to stand for any of the committee roles. Many parents help out with events throughout the year which is very much appreciated.

There is a Friends noticeboard just outside the school gate however please see below for some of our latest and forthcoming events.

Latest Events

We have just donated over £6000 towards some exciting adventure play equipment for KS1 and KS2.  Not only do we hope the children will have fun on the play frames but we hope the challenges of exploring this equipment will develop their balancing and climbing as well as their imaginations.  We hope you enjoy the pictures below and the quotes we have had so far!

Christmas Fair- This was a great success and yet again the Father Christmas Grotto was the talk of the area. Class stalls, outside stalls and refreshments competed with the tombola and games for customers and the whole event was enjoyed by our school community.


On Friday 16th October parents and friends of St Lawrence really did put on the glitz at our PTA Annual Ball!!!

A fabulous evening of entertainment, fun and fund raising - 112 guests pulled out all the stops and helped us raise over £4000 (final total to follow shortly).  The evening started with pre-dinner drinks while we were entertained by Gary Knight singing rat pack and swing favourites and ended with the fantastic Diamond Hearts 80's band.  Thank you to the 2015 Ball Committee and to Pine Ridge Golf Club for organising and hosting such a great evening.
