Debbie Cottrell, Headteacher
|Dear parents and carers
I am delighted to welcome you to the St Lawrence Church Of England primary school website. Making a choice about primary schools is one of the most important decisions that you will make for your children. With this in mind, I would like to introduce you to what is distinctive about our school. I hope that our website will give you a flavour of our children, our environment and our ethos. Our dedicated and talented team of staff is passionate about providing an engaging curriculum through a wide range of stimulating and creative learning experiences. We have high expectations for all children and believe in nurturing a child’s natural curiosity and creating in them a life-long love of learning. We provide a caring and supportive environment for our children to thrive and for our parents to feel valued as part of our school community.
Hidden away in the centre of Chobham Village, just behind the High Street and a short distance from the church of St Lawrence, the school benefits from extensive grounds, open space and our own pool. Our outside areas provide stimulating and safe spaces for children to grow, learn and play - a rare and valuable resource and opportunity in our busy and changing world.
I am so proud of our children, our vibrant community and our school. I hope that a sense of our passion for learning at St Lawrence is shared as you navigate through our website.
Welcome to all of our new pupils and families. Further details about the Reception Induction events have been sent to you.
OFSTED (July 2018) - The full report is available here.

Are you looking for a school place? Please ring 01276 858336 if you would like to visit us.
Why choose us?
We are a small school in the heart of Chobham village. A one form entry school has huge benefits as we know all of our pupils and they all know each other too. Your child can spend 7 years with us; thus eliminating the need for additional transition and ensuring continuity of care and education. We have been inspected twice using the more rigorous OFSTED framework and rated good each time.
The school Values are celebrated and taught explicitly and generalised into every day. They were chosen by staff, pupils and governors and are displayed around the school
Our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology and equipment and our staff go above and beyond to ensure that our pupils’ needs are met. We have a mix of new and old buildings but all are well maintained and regularly updated. Our new Woodland Library has just been completed, thanks to the parent, teacher, friends association (FOSLS)
We have an experienced and enthusiastic staff. We invest in training and also work with other schools to develop our practice and to support others.
Sport for all is important and we have extensive playing fields, large playgrounds and a swimming pool. A high percentage of our pupils represent the school in various sporting activities including football, tri-golf, netball and cross country. We have quality childcare before and after school (7.45 am - 6pm ) and a range of clubs on offer
Our school has a warm and welcoming environment and we invite you to come and see us in action. Please get in touch and we will arrange a time for you to visit us.
Our Value for this term is
HONESTY-Hebrews 13:18. Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
Please register with Easyfundraising to help us raise funds for the school. https://www.easyfundraising.
